Tarot – Part 1. How did it all begin?
First of all, I have to confess that I'm not a professional Tarot reader. I am going to share my experiences from the perspective of an illustrator who's still wandering through the magical world of Tarot with childlike curiosity and is amazed by the stories of the cards and all the symbols that tie them all together. I'm learning as I go, and hoping that you are joining me in this journey.
How did it all begin?
As I’ve mentioned several times before, I started studying Tarot because questions began to surface in my life—questions that reality didn’t seem to have answers for. I needed something that could pull me out of reality and make room for a little time just for myself. Quality time, with its own rituals, and yes, its own meaning.
Honestly... how many things in our lives can we still say that about?
The world doesn't exactly help us to slow down, to go deeper. It doesn't leave us room for wondering, feeling. Or simply sitting with a question without rushing to find an answer. During the most dramatic period of my life, Tarot helped me survive. It taught me to slow down, to ask better questions, and most importantly, it taught me that every challenge can look completely different if you're willing to see it from another perspective.
What’s the point…?
Everyone needs guidance, reassurance. To me, Tarot feels like having someone put an arm around your shoulders and say: “Everything will be allright.”
I like believing that we are part of something bigger, that nothing happens by accident, and that all the challenges in this custom-designed adventure park (also called life) have some kind of purpose.
That's what Tarot is to me. A wise friend. It opens a window and lets me peek behind the scenes, offers a glimpse into the hows and the whys, so that nothing ever catches me completely unprepared.
I'm not necessarily talking about predicting the future... although, let's be honest, sometimes I do ask those kinds of questions too. :-D Because, if I look at it objectively, that function isn’t entirely off the table either. If I think about the fact that my past actions and decisions have led me to where I am now, then by following those same patterns, the outcome can be predicted—no witchcraft required.
What Tarot is really good at is helping me notice the opportunities I would've missed—or the traps I would've walked straight into. Either way, they offer a new perspective, helping me avoid the same patterns of problem-solving that led me to this very place now, where I need to ask questions.

Azt tudnotok kell, hogy nem vagyok profi Tarot olvasó (ha létezik egyáltalán ilyen pozíció) a történeteim egy illusztrátor szemszögéből lesznek lejegyezve aki még mindig ámulva bolyong a kártyák mesés világában, rácsodálkozik a rejtett összefüggésekre és a szimbólumok hálózatára.
Hogyan kezdődött?
Ahogyan azt már számos helyen említettem, a Tarot-ot azért kezdtem el tanulmányozni, mert olyan kérdések merültek fel az életemben amire a valóság nem adott választ. Kellett valami, ami kiragad a mindennapok szürkeségéből és helyet szorít egy kis időnek amit magammal tölthetek. Minőségi időnek, aminek meg van a rituáléja és persze az értelme is. Hány dologról mondhatom el ugyanezt...? Ez nem az a világ, nem az a tempó ami hagyna időt elmélyülni, érezni. Az életem legdrámaibb időszakában a Tarot segített túlélni, lelassulni, megtanított kérdezni és új szempontból megvizsgálni a kihívásokat.
Mi értelme van...?
Mindenkinek szüksége van tanácsra, biztatásra, nekem a Tarot olyan, mint amikor valaki átkarolja a vállad és azt mondja, "minden rendben lesz". Szeretek hinni abban, hogy részei vagyunk az univerzumnak, hogy semmi sem történik véletlenül, hogy az akadálypályának – amit személyre szabtak nekünk ott fent – valami célja van. Számomra a Tarot egy bölcs barát, ablakot nyit, bepillantást enged a hogyanokba és a miértekbe, és így semmi sem ér teljesen felkészületlenül. Itt most nem feltétlenül jövendőmondásra gondolok, bár még az is belefér. Néha arra is használom, nyilván,... :-D Mert ha objektíven nézem, ez a funkció sincs kizárva, abból a tényből kiindulva, hogy az eddigi tetteim és döntéseim vezettek el erre a pontra, ahol vagyok és ha ugyanezeket a mintákat követem, akkor minden boszorkányság nélkül megjósolható a végkifejlet. Amire a kártyák biztosan jók, hogy felismerjem egy helyzet rejtett lehetőségeit vagy csapdáit. Bárhogyan is, újfajta nézőpontot ad, segít, hogy ne ugyanazokat a bejáratott sémákat használjam probléma megoldásra amik ehhez a helyzethez vezettek, ahol-amiről kérdeznem kell.
